Myths or Misconceptions about CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
With the fast spreading deadly virus,myths also being circulated through social media at rapid rate. There are lot of information about CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) and not all are true.

In this article I'm trying to debunk following myths with about the new CORONAVIRUS
Myth 1 Coronavirues cannot be transmitted in area with hot and humid climates
Fact According to WHO the COVID-19 virus can be transmitted in all area's including area with hot and humid climates.
Myth 2 Cold weather and snow can kill the new coronavirus
Fact There is no reason to believe that cold weather can kill new coronavirus. As per WHO,the normal human body temperature range Between 36-37 degrees Celsius irrespective of external temperature or weather
Myth 3 Taking a hot bath with extremely hot water prevents the coronavirus
Fact Taking a hot bath with extremely hot water doesn't protect against the coronavirus but it surely damage your skin
Myth 4 The prolonged use of medical masks can cause CO2 intoxication or Oxygen deficiency
Fact According to WHO, the prolonged use of masks when properly worn doesn't cause CO2 intoxication nor Oxygen deficiency
Myth 5 Drinking alcohol protect against coronavirus
Fact Drinking alcohol doesn't protect against coronavirus. The harmful use of alcohol increase risk of health problems
Myth 6 Thermal scanner detect coronavirus
Fact Thermal scanner are effective in detecting people who have a fever ( i.e. have a higher than normal body temperature). They cannot detect people who are infected with coronavirus
Myth 7 Adding pepper to soup or other meals prevent or cure coronavirus
Fact Adding peppers in your food, though very tasty, cannot prevent or cure coronavirus
Myth 8 coronavirus transmitted through houseflies
Fact to date,there is no evidence or information to suggest that coronavirus transmitted through houseflies. The virus that cause corona spreads primarily through droplets generated when infected person coughs, sneezes, or speaks. You can also become infected by touching a contaminated surface and then touching your eyes, nose or mouth before washing your hand
Myth 9 Spraying and introducing bleach or anther disinfectant will protact you again coronavirus
Fact do not under any circumstances spray or introduce bleach or other disinfectant into your body. These substances can be poisonous if ingested and cause irritation and damage to your skin and eyes. Bleach and disinfectant should be used carefully to disinfect surfaces only.
Myth 10 Exposing yourself to sun or to temperatures higher then 25c degree prevent the coronavirus
Fact you can catch coronavirus, no matter how sunny or hot weather is.
Myth 11 Being able to hold your breath for 10 seconds or more without coughing or feeling discomfort means your are free from coronavirus
Fact you can't confirm it with this breathing exercise,which can even be dangerous. The best way to confirm if you have the virus producing COVID-19 disease is with a laboratory test.
Myth 12 The coronavirus can be transmitted through mosquito bites
Fact To date there has been no information nor evidence to suggest that the new coronavirus could be transmitted through mosquitoes.
Myth 13 Are hand dryers effective in killing coronavirus
Fact No hand dryers are not effective in killing coronavirus
Myth 14 can regularly rinsing your nose with saline help prevent infection with the coronavirus
Fact No there is no evidence that regularly rinsing your nose with saline help prevent infection with coronavirus
Myth 15 Can eating garlic help prevent infection with coronavirus
Fact Galic is a healthy food that may have some antimicrobial properties. However there is no evidence from current outbreak that eating garlic has protected people from coronavirus
Myth 16 Does the coronavirus affect older people, or are younger people also susceptible
Fact People of all ages can be infected by the new coronavirus. Older people and people with pre-existing medical conditions ( such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease ) apper to be more vulnerable to becoming severally ill with the virus
Myth 17 An ultraviolet disinfectant lamp kills the new coronavirus
Fact No, UV lamps don't kill the new coronavirus and WHO doesn't recommend sterilizing hands or other area of skin with them as UV radiation.
Myth 18 Cat and dog spread coronavirus
Fact There is no evidence that say cat and dog spread coronavirus. The real driver of the outbreak is humans.
Myth 19 Antibiotics kills coronavirus
Fact Antibiotics only kill bacteria. They do not kill viruses
Myth 20 Do people develop immunity to the coronavirus disease after being infected
Fact There is currently no evidence that people who have recovered fro coronavirus and have antibodies are protected from second infection. The development of immunity to a pathogen through natural infection is multi-step process
